Global materials supplier Thyssenkrupp Schulte is acquiring an industrial site in Lower Saxony, Germany for a new logistics center.

The logistic center will be the size of seven soccer fields. The 50,000 sq meters of storage space for aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel will cost EUR 60 million (US$69m) and open in 2021.

“Our aim is to be close to our customers, offer them professional advice and provide them with tailored materials and supply chain solutions,” Thyssenkrupp Schulte CEO Ilse Henne said. “Located strategically between Bremen, Hanover and Hamburg, Rotenburg offers the ideal conditions for this.”
