Training Institute Plans 2 Programs in Columbus

The Fastener Training Institute is slated to present a seminar on “Understanding the Bolted Joint” plus a fastener technology workshop in conjunction with the National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo/East.
The trade show and conferences are scheduled for April 26-27, 2011 in Columbus, OH.
Also slated to speak is Rob Lucas on “Current Market Overview; Domestic & Overseas.”  Lucas is with Fidelis Fasteners Ltd. and a partner with NIFMSE co-owner Mike McGuire in Global Fastener Network.

In conjunction with the trade show, Metric Fastener Corp. is hosting of tour of its new 60,000 sq ft Columbus warehouse.

Women in the Fastener Industry also have a meeting scheduled.

The conference sessions and opening reception will be on Tuesday and the trade show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday.

As of February 3, the NIFMSE listed 39 exhibitors totaling 42 booths for the April show. A year ago the show listed 41 exhibiting companies and 60 booths for the May 2010 show and at opening time there were 74 booths.

“We are expecting to have about 75 booths by show time,” NIFMSE/East show manager Susan Hurley said on February 3.  On December 20, 2010, with the same number of companies and booths, Hurley had announced “we are expecting about 100 booths by show time.”

The record in Columbus was 653 booths in 1998. There were 115 booths in 2008 and the 2009 East show was cancelled.

The 2010 West show in Las Vegas had 689 booths.
