TriMas Corp. reported fastener revenue remained even at $39.1 million during the third quarter of 2005. TriMas estimated that industrial fastener sales declined 8% excluding the impact of steel cost increases recovered from customers. Aerospace fastener sales jumped 43.7% due to increased demand in the commercial and business jet markets. Fastening systems operating profit improved $3.2 million from an operating loss of $1.5 million in the third quarter of 2004 to a $1.7 million operating profit in Q3 of this year.
Nine-month fastener sales rose 6.6% to $122.37 million, while operating profit soared to $5.55 million compared with a $5.8 million loss during the first nine months of 2004.
