U.S. automakers expressed interest in sourcing as much as $10 billion in auto components including fasteners from companies in India, according to the newspaper Business Standard. \By 2010, General Motors and Ford Motor Company may be using Indian companies to produce a large number of fasteners and other auto parts. The news follows a visit to the U.S. by an Indian delegation, which reported that about 75 suppliers in India have received at least one request for quotation from the automakers.
