U.S. Commerce Dept. Adjusts AD Rates For Chinese Threaded Rod
The U.S. Department of Commerce announced its antidumping administrative review ruling on steel threaded rod from China.
The Commerce Department adjusted its margin calculations, imposing antidumping duties of 19.54% on Jiaxing Brother Standard Part Co., Ltd., IFI & Morgan Ltd. and RMB Fasteners Ltd., and Zhejiang New Oriental Fastener Co., Ltd.
The merchandise covered by the order includes steel threaded rod. The subject merchandise is currently classifiable under subheading 7318.15.5051, 7318.15.5056, [12] 7318.15.5090, and 7318.15.2095 of the United States Harmonized Tariff Schedule (“HTSUS”).
In September the Commerce Department canceled its antidumping administrative review of steel threaded rod from seven Chinese companies after the U.S. petitioner, Vulcan Threaded Products, withdrew its request for a review on the Chinese companies.
On June 3, 2012, the Commerce Department initiated a review on steel threaded rod from China. The review covered 80 companies.
Threaded rod imports from other Asian countries also face tariffs.
In August the U.S. International Trade Commission unanimously determined that there is a reasonable indication that a U.S. industry is materially injured by imports of certain steel threaded rod from India and Thailand, which allegedly are sold in the U.S. at less than fair value and thought to be subsidized by the government of India.
The Commerce Department’s preliminary antidumping duty determinations are due by December 4, 2013. ©2013 GlobalFastenerNews.com
