Ukrainian Wire Rod Exports to U.S. Could Increase

The May 30 removal of antidumping tariffs on wire rod from Ukraine has created new export opportunities for the Ukrainian product, according to American Metal Market.

This means steel wire rod shipments could arrive in the U.S. over the next few months at “prices comparable to Turkish wire rod, AMM reports.

“However…long-standing supply agreements with wire rod consumers in Ukraine and the Mediterranean mean (companies have) limited wire rod volumes available for long-distance shipments,” making it highly likely that shipments to the U.S. will be moderate.
