UK’s Staytite Acquires Portafix

UK fastener maker Staytite Ltd. acquired fastener supplier Portafix Ltd. for an undisclosed sum, Fastener + Fixing reports.

Founded in the late 1990s, Portafix’s product range includes both standard and special fasteners, ‘C’ class components, packaging, tools and PPE. Portafix has experience in Kanban JIT deliveries and supplying custom kitting.

“This acquisition will enable us to build on our unrivalled wealth of technical fastener expertise and experience, by combining the logistical and ‘C’ class components capabilities of Portafix to make us your number one choice for your fastener and ‘C’ class components,” Staytite commented.

A sharp increase in Asian demand for its products has prompted Staytite to open a logistics center in Hong Kong by the second quarter of 2010. The location will allow Staytite to offer next working day deliveries into China.
