Valmont Industries Reports Decline in Fastener Segment Sales
Valmont Industries reported sales in its “Other” segment, including industrial fasteners from Donhad Pty Ltd., fell 26% to $61.8 million in the second quarter of 2014. Segment operating income dropped 36% to $8.3 million.
“Other” segment sales in the first six months of 2014 declined 25.5% to $120.4 million, while segment operating income fell 41% to $16.9 million.
Overall Valmont Industries sales decreased 4.1% to $842.6 million in Q2, while net income dipped 28.5% to $64 million.
Valmont Industries owns Australia-based Donhad, which was founded in 1965. Donhad manufactures steel grinding media, engineered forgings and specialized fasteners for use in the mining and mineral processing industry. The company operates a forging and heat treatment facility in Perth for manufacturing fasteners. Web: donhad.com.au
