Volt Industrial Plastics is marking its 25th anniversary.
Volt dates its company roots to 1952, when Joe Volltrauer immigrated to the U.S. from Austria. Initially he worked as an apprentice tool and die maker for Acme Tool & Die in Chicago where he enjoyed the challenge of mold making. In 1973, he started JV Tool and a couple of years later moved to Arkansas where he designed molds for manufacturers of plastic components, including plastic fastener makers in the region.

In 1992, Volltrauer decided to use his mold and tool making expertise to produce plastic fasteners in his own company.

He put profits back into the business to buy state-of-the-art computer-aided manufacturing equipment making Volt to efficient and responsive.

VIP produces plastic screws and nuts, license plate screws and nuts, Christmas tree clips, rivets, wire and cable routing clips, printed circuit board hardware, dowels, washers, spacers, tapped spacers and many other fasteners in its 65,000 sq ft facility.

Volt moved into a new location in 2012, which is over two and one half times larger than the previous facility and includes additional warehouse space for finished goods and raw material. The new state-of-the-art tool making and production equipment includes EDM machines, top-of-the-line CNC-EDM sinker, a CNC milling center and a CNC lathe.

Volt Industrial inventories over one billion plastic fasteners.
