Wesco Aircraft to Acquire Interfast
Southern California aerospace distributor Wesco Aircraft Holdings Inc. agreed to acquire substantially all of the assets of Canadian-based Interfast Inc. for CDN$134 million (US$130.3m) in cash.
Interfast is a Toronto-based distributor of specialty fasteners, fastening systems and production installation tooling for the aerospace, electronics and general industrial markets. Interfast supplies OEM and MRO customers.
Wesco chairman Randy Snyder said the Interfast acquisition “will accelerate our growth across North America and Asia and strengthen our relationships with several strategic aerospace customers. This highly complementary acquisition will also allow us to broaden our product portfolio to include new lines such as specialty industrial products.”
Wesco also gains Interfast’s MRO business.
The acquisition is expected to close by the beginning of its fiscal fourth quarter.
Wesco Aircraft distributes 475,000 hardware, bearings, tools, electronic components and machined parts to the global aerospace industry. Services include quality assurance, kitting, just-in-time delivery and point-of-use inventory management.
