Former Heads and Threads International president Mike Wrenn is joining Brighton Best International in its as vice president of business development/product manager. The appointment is effective August 1.

“Mike comes with extensive experience in the fastener industry, and has been a key figure in the story of HTI,” stated Rosa Hearn of Brighton Best.

Wrenn will work out of Brighton Best’s Chicago office to develop the company’s metrics line in the U.S.

“This is a solid product category that BBI currently plays very little in,” Hearn explained. “However, we believe BBI possesses a unique knowledge base given our international operations are already selling metrics products.

The assets of Heads and Threads were acquired at auction by Porteous Fastener Co. in May. Porteous paid just under $12 million, according to an inventory report. (Click here for full story).

Porteous closed HTI’s five branches and consolidated inventory into its own facilities.
