Würth Tops EUR 10 Billion in Sales for 2014
The Würth Group reports it topped the EUR 10 billion sales mark for 2014.
Würth announced 2014 sales totaled EUR 10.12 billion (US$11.1b), up from EUR 9.75 billion for 2013.
All regions of the worldwide company increased sales. Würth’s sales in its home country of Germany grew 4.1% and North American Würth sale rose 8.6%.
According to preliminary calculations, the operating result rose 12.4% to EUR 500 million in 2014.
The number of employees went up from 63,571 to 66,044 in 2014 for the more than 400 Würth companies in 80 countries.
“The development of the Würth Group shows a clear upward trend in all parts of the world in spite of the partly very difficult world economic influences such as in Russia,” Würth chair Robert Friedmann observed. “We are looking optimistically into the year 2015 and will continue investing purposefully in further sales representatives, growth markets and sales channels such as e-business.”
The Würth Group’s core business is assembly and fastening materials. In the Group’s core business, the Würth Line, the sales program for craft and industry comprises more than 100,000 products: from screws, screw accessories and anchors over tools to chemical products and personal protective equipment. The allied Würth Group companies operate in the core business or in diversified areas such as offering products for DIY stores, material for electrical installations, electronic components such as circuit boards as well as financial services.
