Wrth Service Supply is marking its 60th anniversary. Founded in 1948 by E.C. Seitz in downtown Indianapolis, Service Supply was acquired from the Seitz family by the Knzelsau, Germany-based Wrth Group in 1998.

Today Wrth Service Supply has 34 branches in the U.S., Canada and Mexico and 2007 sales were approximately $160 million.

This year Wrth Service Supply will move its Decatur, IL, branch to a larger facility. In 2007 Wrth Service Supply made substantial capital investment in a new operating system and support equipment. In 2005 and 2006, the company added branches to extend coverage across the continent. In 2005 the Wrth brand of MRO products was introduced and sales have doubled each year for three years.

Wrth Service Supply expects 2007 sales and profit to be the second highest in company history and for 2008 forecasts a minimum of 17% sales growth and “an even more substantial growth in profits.”

CEO John Fuerst described the past several years in the fastener industry as “extremely challenging due to the general economy and substantial increases in the cost of our products. That despite these pressures we have maintained our focus and see the future as having many opportunities. As such we are very optimistic about 2008 and beyond.”

Wrth Group has 400 companies in 86 countries and 55,000 employees. The Wrth Group estimated 2007 sales of US$12.5 billion.
